Birthday Thanks!

Last Friday was indeed my 52nd birthday. Thanks for all the cards (both electronic and physical) and well-wishes. The above card actually came from my mom who knows that I share my house with two cats, Dude and Celia.

I appreciate all the kindness and love you've shown and I am a blessed, blessed fellow to be surrounded by friends and brethren who hold my arms up when I'm weak and cheer me on when I'm strong.

I am also adopting Pam Owen's philosophy concerning birthdays. Once you hit fifty, you should be allowed to start counting backward. By that reckoning I'm 48.

I can't wait to hit my 30's again.
