Andrew's Baptism

Andrew posted this bit of video on YouTube this morning and I wanted to share it with the rest of our GCA family. This is why we baptize. It's a public profession of faith in Christ and His finished work.

In baptism, we join two thousand years of Christians who profess the same faith in the same Lord, looking to Him for our righteousness and acceptance before God. In this symbol we align ourselves with Christ's death, burial and resurrection, telling the world that we expect to be raised from our graves to walk eternally with the One who is the firstfruit of the resurrection (1 Cor. 15:20-23).

4:00 p.m. -- Meeting at Sovereign Grace Baptist Church, 437 Coventry Dr., Nashville. Doors open at 3:30. Pastor Don Tindle will be prividing our Scripture Reading and opening prayer. Elder Barney Johnson will be preaching, followed by three baptisms.

6:30 p.m. -- Dinner at the Smyrna Town Center, 100 Sam Ridley Pkwy East, Smyrna, TN. Buffet style dinner in a private room. Cost is 17.50 per person, kids under 6 are free. However, if you cannot afford the dinner, plan to attend anyway. GCA will pay the difference.

10:30 a.m. -- Meeting at Grace Christian Assembly, 904 Hazelwood Dr., Smyrna, TN. This service is dedicated to the Lord's Supper.

12:00 noon (or thereabouts) -- Potluck dinner and fellowship at GCA.

SPRING FORWARD!

Yes, it's that time again. It's earlier this year. So, Saturday night we must move our clocks ahead one hour. Twice annually congregations around the country are thrown into a lurch as members who forgot to fiddle with their clocks show up an hour early or an hour late. This particular Sunday, if you don't move your clock forward, you'll show for church an hour late.

So, spring forward Saturday night --- then we'll spend the next six months waiting to get our one hour of sleep back in the Fall.
