Prepping for Lexington
I don't know how many of our email correspondants also read this blog, but I just wanted to drop a quick note here to remind folk that I'll be leaving for the Sovereign Grace Bible Conference on Monday. I'll be returning on Saturday, Lord willing. During that time I won't be answering email, so don't become discouraged if you write to me and don't receive a timely reply. My email builds up when I'm away and then it takes some time to play catch-up.
I'm looking forward to hitting the road Monday. It's a good break from the usual routine. Meg will be going with me again this year, which makes the drive easier -- plus, she's very good company. She has become a fixture at the conference and most of the people who greet me in Lexington follow up with, "So where's your daughter?" Between the two of us, she's clearly the more popular.
Today and tomorrow I'll be packing and prepping. I'll be preaching at GCA Sunday morning and visiting with some out-of-town friends after the service. Then, it's back home to finish packing the car and preparing for our hotel stay. I usually don't sleep particularly well in hotels, so pray for our endurance, safe travels, and that the Lord will bless all of the teaching and preaching at this year's gathering.
I'll be speaking on Wednesday, August 5, at noon. Preaching at this conference in years past has been a great joy and privilege. This year, I believe I'll be addressing the subject "The Irresistible God." God is irresistible in all of His attributes and activities. The fact that His grace is beyond resisting is simply consistent with everything else we know and read about Him. It should be fun.
So, keep those cards and letters coming! Well ... okay ... keep those emails coming! But, give me sufficient time to get back to you.
Thanks to all of our correspondants and supporters around the globe. You make the effort worthwhile!
